About me
My name is Robert and I am originally from Denmark and this site is my private wargaming site.
I started playing roleplaying games in 1986 after seeing a news bulletin with some funky transparent dice and some painted miniatures.
The miniatures took me by storm since I was at that point struggling with keeping my borther and sister from smashing my model planes, but I figured they would have a lot harder time breaking lead minis.
I esspecially enjoyed painting Citadel Orcs and in 1990 I met some guys who told me that all the orcs I had were actually for a game called Warhammer 40.000. With all the Orks (not with c) I had I could field a fully painted army from day one.
I later got into Warhammer Fantasy battle, Blood Bowl and Necromunda. I stil kept playing Roleplaying games as well, mostly Shadowrun.
In 1999 I move to London and in the summer of 2000 I decided to leave Warhammer 40.000 because I didn't like the extreme simplicity of WH40K 3.edition, and I didn't like the way the game got more and more expensive both in moeny but more importantly; In time.
I started looking for other games and just managed to learn about Warzone before Target Games went belly up.
The came two new games: VOID from I Kore and VOR The Maelstrom from the now dead FASA Corporation.
Both look really good, but in the end I opted for VOR since A) It had more detailed rules B) It had a kick ass background C) It was from the FASA who made my favorite Roleplaying system Shadownrun.
Unfortunatly FASA went belly up shortly after VOR was launched but Mocaiv, a fellow UK VOR player took up the torch and created No Quarter and No Limits games, free rule systems for fantasy and Sci-fi battles.
Then another game came in from the side line. At first it seemed like just a fun little game to play between "real" games, as your really only needed a Warcaster and a Warjack to field an army... Yes, you guessed it: Warmachine had landed on my desk.
At first there wasn't even a rulebook. Just two starter boxes. Cryx for me, Khador for Mocaiv.
I played Warmachine solidly for a few years at Ponders End Wargaming Club until life made me take a pause from wargaming in end of 2006.
2008 I slowly got back into wargaming with a great and very surprising news: Vor the Maelstrom is back!
And that's about it.
