With two of their comrades dead, the Paladin Damon and the Warlock Alyanys was on the look out for new recruits. Fortunately an unknown (kinda) mysterious benefactor (Jean-Jacques in disguise) had found two candidates and invited all four to a team building exercise in a haunted tower (damdamdaaaaam) at the edge of Twilight Forest. The 4 heroes met at midnight as instructed and was asked to divide into two pair, each with a veteran and a recruit, and scale the tower ruin with the promise of magic items to the winners. The ground floor The ground floor of the tower…

As the heroes continued their journey to Twobridges, they came across a small group of merchants, who were held up due to a threat up ahead by the bridge. Their guess was it was a Siren due to the high shrieks from the area, but as the heroes went to investigate, all they found was a little girl tied to the centre of the bridge crying out for help in high-pitched shrieks. As soon as Torgga, the Dwarven Paladin released the girl, a Troll jumped up from under the bridge and attacked her. However, as Torgga has a specific hate…

in our campaign Daisygate, we have the local cityguard called “The Daisy Guard”, who the party has run into several times. They are trained, but polite city guards maintaining the order of the town. They serve the town. However, I also needed a unit of Royal Guardians who are tasked with protecting the royals. These guards are trained elite soldiers, so I wanted them to look very different. the Flameguards from Privateer Press look quite menacing with their tight helmets and big shields so they were perfect. i painted them in the same colours but with a different symbol on…

I bought these Dwarven ladies at DragonMeet last year for a specific purpose for our then D&D campaign “War of the Triplets”. However, the heroes decided to go in a different direction so never got around to need them and hence never got around to paint them. Now that we have started up a second Covid19 campaign “Twobridges”, one player wanted to be a Dwarven Paladin specifically with. hammer so I suddenly needed to paint one of them up. The are really cool minis and she was a great fun to paint. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPsDdTEXs2g

Back in the 80s when I first started playing RPGs we really didn’t have access to a lot of miniatures, which meant when you found something unusual and cool, you grabbed it! That’s how I ended up with my first version of this fantastic Undead Cyclops from Grenadier Models 1988. That version has long since been chopped up and most bits lost, but I found a similar one on eBay and jumped the chance to get it again. I have to say, this one really has held its own against the tides of time and is still as cool as…

My wife bought me this a while back. As I wasn’t sure what to use it for, I never got around to paint it as I tend to paint what i need for the game. However, I sat down and painted it and good thing I did as I suddenly needed it as a fallback option in our Daisygate campaign as we had a TPK! Quite happy with the result. Maybe the glow could have been toned down a bit, but I am happy with it. I am not really sure what to categorise Death as. I know he looks…

While I feel I have a good technique for painting dragons, I struggled with giants. in fact, I have a complete set of giants my wife has bought me that I am scared to make a start on… or at least I was because I have started now with this female  Stone Giant. I had to paint her fast so this was done fast. Painted skin grey, painted cloth in various contrast paints. Inked it all with Agrax Earthshade and drybrushed with a bone colour. Done! I actually think she turned out alright for a speed paint job. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lSQzZtoBU8

On their way to Twobridges, the three adventures, the “Internationals” stopped at small farmer settlement just North West of Twobridges. Here they spent a few days recharging the “Long Road Tavern”, but one day a distraught young man came in alerting the farmers that an old lady had been mauled to death. The area had had problems with a beast of sorts attacking livestock but this was the first time it had attacked a person. The suspicion quickly fell on the local oddball, the woodsman Sheamus Redleaf who the locals claimed to have seen change into beastly shapes. Soon the…

Having learned of the Baroness’ disappearance, Damon rallied the rest of the Nightshift heroes and they quickly ran through a number of ideas of how to get into the castle and in the end settled for a similar approach as what Damon had had success with already: The two Paladins would claim to be entering the castle to provide extra protection for the Baroness while Alyanys the Warlock made herself and Welby the Halfling invisible and followed closely. It was an easy ploy made easier by name-dropping Sergeant Konrad who had previously let Damon inside. Inside the castle The four…
