Dungeons & Dragons – A Memory to Forget: Chapter 9 – The White Petal Accord

Our heroes had a well warned bath and rest in the Aeonspire Citadel.

They had each been appointed luxurious guest rooms and were relaxing waiting for the meeting with their hosts, the wizards Zalthenna and Zaltar.

After a delicious brunch with the wizards, the heroes were instructed to be careful with what they were saying at the meeting and indeed only speaking when spoken to seems like the safest option.

The party realised Scatter was nowhere to be seen, but given the safety of the Aeonspire, they were confident she would be fine.

Meeting the Tor Wardens

in the afternoon the party was brought a a large octagon room designed as a practical room with refreshments, pen, paper, drinks and large table to work at.

The room had four magical portals shimmering with blue light out of which stepped the other Tor Wardens:

  • Aurelia Nepheli, Cloud Giant Sorcerer from Southtor also known as “The Beacon”.
  • Eye of Vorthar, a tall man with a single large eye where his face was meant to be from Northtor also known as “The Eye of Vorthar”.
  • The ghost Livia Thorne from the ruins of Easttor.

To the party’s surprise the topic of conversation was not about Scatter.

Instead the Tor Wardens told Fenrir that “The Promised” the cult of people believing him to be their saviour. They were under the impression Fenrir had been promised to them with a promise of turning them all strong and powerful to rule the lands.

The Tor Wardens had helped Fenrir hide in Daisygate as The Promised were many. Furthermore as they saw Fenrir as their promised leader, the Aasimar saw Fenrir as an abomination given he was one of them but with lycanthropy curse.

With the large cult of The Promised on one side and the Aasimar on the other, the result of a clash would be disastrous and the spark to light that explosion was Fenrir.

The meeting concluded leaving the heroes unnerved by this news and confused as to why Shatter and the Nyxarians had not been a topic.

The second meeting

In the middle of the night our heroes were woken by knocking on their doors. Servants told them to get dressed and rejoin the Tor Wardens in the large octagon meeting room.

Here the party met the Tor Wardens as they had met them before with one exception: The Eye of Vorthar was now blindfolded and the heroes learned that Vorthar himself had been following the conversation through the eye.

Now the Tor Wardens presented themselves as the Triarch tasked with monitoring and dealing with any potential Nyxarian threat.

Scatter was also in the room and the heroes learned that she would remain in the Aeonspire Tower to strengthen her ability to destroy memories.

Nyxarians travel through memories and were capable of traveling to any person or place of which they had a memory of.

The party were hesitant of leaving the fey girl but in the end agreed.

they also learned that the threat of The Promised was not as severe as had been made out in the first meeting. Nevertheless it was real in the form of a small group of Promised who by chance had seen Fenrir transform in Daisygate.

The heroes were also asked to deliver a letter to the High Council of Lunessence and after a quick goodbye to Scatter, they were teleported directly into Bloomspire Hall the main castle of Daisygate and meeting place of the Council.

The High Council of Lunessence

Our heroes appeared straight in front of the High Council of Lunessence out of nowhere. The Daisyguards present reacted immediately drawing their arms, but the party was quick to hold the letter high, which Rowan Ashfall,  the Sherif of Daisygate, took to the Counselors present:

  • Lady Elowen Quillsmith, Daisygate.
  • Lord Thalric Timberheart, Timberfell.
  • Lady Maeryn Ironvein, Shieldstone.
  • Harbourmistress Maribeth Saltfoot, Titan’s Landing
  • Warden Tharok Ironplow, Millhaven
  • with The Wizards Zalthenna and Zaltar Evergaze from  Aeonspire Citadel abscent.

The Council accepted the letter and dismissed the party who left with Sheriff who was keen on hearing more about their suspicious run- in with the Inquisitor Lopper Goldsmith.

But just before they left, Lady Maeryn Ironvein, the oldest council member, suggested the heroes become the founding members of the Second White Petal Accord, an organisation with wide scope to counter Nyxarian threat.

This was unanimously agreed although the Hafling Harbourmistress Maribeth Saltfoot had her reservations. In the end she agreed under the condition she would be the Petal Bound’s direct contact in the Council.

The appointment came with a large ornamented oak door that the heroes took back to Amelia’s shop.

House of Bellis

Safely within the four walls of the bridal shop, Fenrir opened the door into a large house with a desk and a bell.

The heroes rang the bell which summoned a Djinn concierge named Bellisar Al Bellis who introduced them to their new headquarters.
