It is a big difference making terrain for D&D and for Warhammer. For D&D details and scatter is the most important while for Warhammer it is size and cover that matters.
Back in the 90s often terrain for Warhammer became big hills you could stack for both cover and for elevation.
I found this cardboard shapes from some kitchen equipment or something and it gave me the idea to make alternate hills for Wahammer 40.000. Instead of lush green hills, I made this Imperial Bunkers.
They were fast to make:
- Paint grey
- Drybrush bone
- Wash with a dark wash
- And some optional add ones that brings it to life without any real impact of playablity:
- Paint hazard stripes.
- Added a few metal hatches
- metal doors
- Free-painted the imperial eagle and some other imperial symbols.
Finished result is not going to win any awards but it will do the job on the table.
