Following the making of my new stone tiles board, I have now made one with wooden floors.
i am using a tried and tested model of glueing stir sticks as planks, followed by a dark brown wash with a light drybrush of light tan after wards.
The stone edges was because I couldn’t get it to the same size as the stonetiles and I had planned to glue the two together for stability, but realized I might need both sets at the same time so abandoned the idea after I had made the floors with the stone edges.
Technically I could cut them off, but I quite like the look.
Step 1: glue stirsticks on
I made the squares big enough so they can represent either 5ft or 10ft.

Step 2: Dark brown wash
I use a mix of brown, black and green with lots of water as the wood really soaks it in fast.

Finished result
finally a drybrush of light tan. Done!
