I moved to London in 1999 and worked for London Web Communications in Finchley close to Leisure Games.
At the time I played Warhammer 40.000 and was looking for a club but through Leisure Games I found Flashpoint Finchley, a gaming club not focusing on tabletop wargames, but on the collectable card game Shadowfist.
I had played Magic The Gathering since Legends came out, but Shadowfist opened up a new world of multiplayer collectable card games.
It was at the time where Shadowfist had been discontinued, but there were plans to revive it. I even drew a few illustration for test cards.
Anyway, I got a job in the other end of town and I transitioned over to Blood Bowl at a local pub called The Edinboro Castle, where the Edinboro Castle Blood Bowl League was running. It is today London’s oldest Blood Bowl League.
Fastforward to 2020
Where I returned to Denmark after 21 years in London.
I started playing Magic The Gathering again with two friends, but while we’ve tried various three-player formats, Magic is a two-player optimised game.
So I decided to look into Shadowfist and am hoping I can get the other two interested in the game and we could call our trio the Boatsman Shadowfist Syndicate.

Anyway, I found two sealed boxes of Shadowfist Standard Edition Starter Decks from 1995.
Here is me opening the first box …. 31 years after it came out!
