Portable Terrain DeLuxe
For Golden Growler UK 2001 I was asked to make a board. Right, what to make? A Neo-Soviet underground station ofcourse.
This gives me a lot of good things: It gives me a board that fits my army, it gives me the opportunity to make some terrain (when you have a deadline you tend to get on with it) an it gives me the option to do a board with "holes" in it like rail tracks, elevators, and craters.
This board looks a lot more complicated that the the previous table and it did take longer to make, but it is the same basic idea.
This is a list of things I bought to make the board
- 3 styrofoam plates 2'X4' and 2" thick
- 2 small hinges
- 1 liter of Black paint and 1 liter of white paint (didn't buy them because I still had enough left from the first portable terrain feature)
- A lot of glue
- Some balsa wood for the rail tracks and the rails
- 3 chip wood boards to strengthen the board when folded and carried.
- Elephant tape to hold strengthen the chip wood board and hold it on place together with the PVA glue.

The board in action at Golden Growler UK 01. You can see how I have cut roads and room for the tracks. The boards are only 2" thick but it makes a big difference from normal flat boards.

I also made two large industrial elevators (for trucks and stuff) one was up and one was down. Here you can see the one that is up
