Eyes

Most tutorials will tell you to paint miniatures eyes white and add a black dot in the middle.

While this is true there are some other things to consider and be aware off.

black eyes Make sure both eyes look the same way, this sounds like a stupid advice when reading it, but I have seen many miniatures (and have some myself) where they eyes sort of look in each direction.

If you want a miniature to look like in a war craze or a bit psychotic, make sure there is white above the iris.

brown eyes Final tip is from an old friend, do not limit yourself to use black for the centre of the eye because it can make the miniature look like it stares. Use colours like green, blue and brown, but don't use too light a colour unless you want the miniature to have an unnatural or alien look.
