I’ve already painted these menacing warriors once, but I need them for our current D&D campaign and need them with a darker, more ancient undead look as I want to use the Knight of the Bell miniature as a Death Knight guardian.

I speedpainted a bunch of Cryx a few months back including the original of miniature of Asphyxious the Iron Lich. But reading up on Liches on D&D, I realised they can cast “Mirror Image” creating 3 mirror images of themselves. Now, I normally try to be economic with both terrain and miniatures, but sometimes the […]
I speedpainted a bunch of Cryx a few months back and following the same technique, I speedpainted this bunch of Helljacks.
This Spirit Cauldron comes with the Gatorman Boil Master I bought back in 2018 for one of the very first D&D games I ran, but but never got around to paint it. This was painted using “Hexwraith Flame” and i really like the result. I did thin it down a bit and also did some […]
i’ve had the miniature laying around for some time now. It happens I buy NPC type miniatures, but never get them painted as they don’t feature in any D&D combat encounters and social encounters I tend to use Theatre of the Mind. A while back I painted a few minis as ghosts using “Nihilakh Oxide” […]
I saw a video about the Slapchop painting technique on Youtube and it made me think about back when I played IK Warmachine in the early 2000s and how this technique would have allowed me to paint my Cryx much faster. I do think the Cryx I painted back then are better, but to put […]
I was looking through my bits box and found all sorts of things that could be decorations on graves and grave stones so I decided to make a bunch of graves using squares of cork and these bits painted as old brass. Really happy with these.
These were quick and fun to make. If you have spare miniatures you do not know what to do with, you can quick paint them into stone statues (aka medusa victims). But another quick way to get use out of such minis, is to make them into ghosts. Simply spray them white and give them […]
Very little good has come from Brexit, but one good thing is that it has opened my eyes for miniature manufactures outside the UK. One great example is Cadwallon Miniatures where I found this fantastic and characterful Nosferatu. As a paint job, this is unique to me as I decided to paint his armour in […]
Painting 3D printed minis is fairly new to me, but I think when they are not overdone with details, they can be really cool, like these two Vampires from dndfigurer.dk. They have so much goth classic character.
This idea came from a desire of A) add an unfamiliar monster that would really make the players look twice B) bring in my own D&D character to the future world the party found themselves in at the time. By chance I bought “Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft” which had the interesting “Brain in a […]
This Necromancer miniature is such a mad wizard! Instead of a vain wizard with top hat and fancy cape, this guy simply has no care for his appearance and knows that flesh is just clay for him to mold. Nothing more. Somehow it makes him look crazy, unpredictable and powerful! I tried the same technique […]
