This Gretchin mob was super fun to paint. Back in the days it was rare to see these guys as they rarely found their way into shops and when 2nd edition came out, the box came with the plastic Gretchin. This lot has Gretchin from different eras from Rogue Trader to 3rd edition (I think […]

I am not sure how I got my hands on this Renegade Runtherd. It’s from the Rogue Trader era, but doesn’t seem to be listed in catalogues. Somebody from the Warhammer 40k 2nd Edition Facebook group pointed me to this entry on the Collecting Citadel Miniatures website. Interestingly, it does say that the miniature appeared […]
Showed my wife how to play Warhammer 40.000 using 2nd edition rules. She’s a seasoned D&D and boardgame player so she picked it up fast. She took the Space Wolves while I brought my “trusty” Bad Moons. Good back and forth until the wolves charged and while the big teef Orks held out for a […]
When I turned 50, my wife gave me a bunch of Squats for my birthday! What a gift! I’ve always wanted to field an army of these little chaps, but back in the days somebody else already had an army of them and to be honest, the Orks drew my attention more. But these Squats, […]
Having finished a few units and a few characters for my Space Wolves, I now have enough to field them against my Goffs. So I made two 820 points armies with no psychics and minimum wargear cards to keep it simple. Set up I’m playing the Space Wolves and my friends Carlo, who I normally […]
I had to look up if this Weird Warphead miniature was from Rogue Trader era or 2nd edition as I don’t remember seeing it back in the days. But it is listed here as 1991 and since 2nd ed came out in 1993, it must be Rogue Trader. it has been a real joy painting […]
I’ve been painting my Rogue Trader Bad Moon army for a while now. But I had a chance to show a friend Warhammer 40.000 so I made two small 650 points warbands from the orks I have. One a more shooty all Bad Moon warband with weirdboys and better equipment like ‘eavy armour. The other […]
There’s just something about old Rogue Trader miniatures even the ones I didn’t have back in the day. The Ogryns from that time are so brutal and super fun to paint as an addition to my Bad Moon Orks. My Warhammer 40.000 Rogue Trader Ogryn Mob
I made a couple of grass displays for my two Oldhammer projects: my Night Goblins and my Bad Moon Warband. Basically each is made of a cardboard base, a block of spare foam core and wrapped in a grass sheet. I used hot glue on the styrofoam and regular PVA on the cardboard.
First finished miniature of 2022 is an oldie, but a goodie: The only Goffik Rocker Ork I have left from back when I played Warhammer 40.000: Rogue Trader. The reason I decided to paint him up was not to expand my Bad Moon Warband, but because I needed a Half-Orc Bard for an Xmas 2021 […]
I’ve been looking forward to doing this photoshoot for some time. This is my complete, painted 1,000 Bad Moon Ork Army for Warhammer 40.000: Rogue Trader! I started this hobby project spring 2017 and scouted for the minis (those I didn’t have already) and painted them when I had time. Since I started this project […]
So… It has come to this! Back in 2017 I wrote up two 1,000 point armies based on the ever-awesome Warhammer 40.000 – Rogue Trader (1st edition wh40k). The first one a Bad Moon warband in memory of the army I used to play. And the second a Harlequin as I’ve always wanted to paint […]
