These are my notes as a player as this Chapter was DMed by first-time Dungeon Master Tony, who did a great job despite having the handicap of having to run the game remotely due to the current pandemic. This was my second game as a player. Our heroes were hanging out in the Unnamed Tavern when […]

Image credit calumimaclean.blogspot.com Devil: “Sign this IOU contract and I will help your fallen comrade!” Paladin (pulls out a deck of cards): “I’ll play you for your help.” Devil (swoops down and sits): “Buahahaha! Deal the cards, mortal!” Dungeon Master (me) thinking: “Oh f*ck! How do I run this???” The above actually happened in a recent Dungeons & […]
In our previous game, Our Warlock, Alynanys the half-elf, had suddenly been summoned away by her patron, the Pit Fiend general, Xinphalaxal The Angel Charmer. (Sean, her player, was Dungeon Master in last game). However, Alyanys did not returned as planned so the rest of our heroes went through her stuff and found a letter […]
DM notes …eh… actually, it is my notes as a player as this Chapter was DMed by Sean, one of our regular players. He did a fantastic job even with the handicap of having to run the game remotely due to the current pandemic. Last time I was a player was in High School, back […]
I picked up Dungeon Mastering in 2018 after a 20 year break and the amount of quality helpful videos on Youtube really took me by surprise. Fast forward to 2020 I regularly get asked what videos I recommend new Dungeon Masters should watch, so I went ahead and created a YouTube list of videos in the […]
Having found the strange and alien Mind Controlling Device, our heroes realised they had no idea how to use it. But they were certain the device, the Black Sapphire, the Mind Flayer, the tentacles, the cultists all of it were linked so they reviewed what they had learned so far about the Deep Planes and […]
I am a big fan of the old Rogue Trader Orks. They have so much personality. But back when i played Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader, I didn’t have access to the fantastic Ogres and Ogryns from Citadel. So it has been a pleasure suddenly being able to paint not just this amazing Ogre by Jes […]
This is an example of a freakishly fast built piece of scenery. Drying time aside, I probably spent 20 minutes building and painting it and it works!
I actually think I got this miniature as a gift from Darksword minis with a large order, but he is such a classical miniature, I just had to paint him! Really happy with the result too.
I think the George R.R. Martin line from Darksword Miniatures has some fantastic miniatures for cityfolk of all ranks including this mini of Tywin Lannister. In our current Dungeons & Dragons campaign “Daisygate” he plays the part of a retired general who now acts as advisor and bodyguard to the ruler of the town.
I bought an awesome Cthulhu-esque monolith, but obviously you can’t have that without cultists to worship it so I also got this gang of masked cultists. Cultists worshipping their icon
I buy minis for what I need to play, but once in a while I pick something up just because it is cool, such as this Living Icon from Fenris Games. I decided to go all out on the living element of it and painted all eyes as natural eyes. To give them an additional […]
