MEGA POST – 1987 to 1989

In 1987 I saw a TV news bulleting about roleplaying games and that is how I got into miniature painting.

As it happens, I found out earlier this year (2021) that my brother actually kept some of the minis we played with back then.

Below are the painted ones, but before we get to those there is an honorary mention of this orc I painted half of back then and the other half in 2021.

Also worth mentioning, I have a hobby project of collecting the minis we have lost that I want to paint again.

Orc then and now – Comparing my paint skills now and in 1987

Painted by my brother.
Painted by my brother, I think.
Painted by me. Inspired by Prince Valiant.

Painted by me.
The one with the axe is painted by me shortly after I learned drybrushing. The other I think was my brother.

Not sure who painted this, but love his eyes!

Painted by me. I remember being super excited about these Orcs as they looked so much more bulky and tough than what we had at the time.
