Having found the strange and alien Mind Controlling Device, our heroes realised they had no idea how to use it. But they were certain the device, the Black Sapphire, the Mind Flayer, the tentacles, the cultists all of it were linked so they reviewed what they had learned so far about the Deep Planes and […]

I am a big fan of the old Rogue Trader Orks. They have so much personality. But back when i played Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader, I didn’t have access to the fantastic Ogres and Ogryns from Citadel. So it has been a pleasure suddenly being able to paint not just this amazing Ogre by Jes […]
This is an example of a freakishly fast built piece of scenery. Drying time aside, I probably spent 20 minutes building and painting it and it works!
I actually think I got this miniature as a gift from Darksword minis with a large order, but he is such a classical miniature, I just had to paint him! Really happy with the result too.
I think the George R.R. Martin line from Darksword Miniatures has some fantastic miniatures for cityfolk of all ranks including this mini of Tywin Lannister. In our current Dungeons & Dragons campaign “Daisygate” he plays the part of a retired general who now acts as advisor and bodyguard to the ruler of the town.
I bought an awesome Cthulhu-esque monolith, but obviously you can’t have that without cultists to worship it so I also got this gang of masked cultists. Cultists worshipping their icon
I buy minis for what I need to play, but once in a while I pick something up just because it is cool, such as this Living Icon from Fenris Games. I decided to go all out on the living element of it and painted all eyes as natural eyes. To give them an additional […]
This miniature is a Nymph, but I think she doubles as a village / commonfolk girl. I speed painted her, but actually I’m really happy with the result.
This Chapter was back to old-school dungeon crawl, but I have to say most of our characters’ personalities and motives grew a lot in this game. Several times I had the pleasure of sitting back and watch the story unfold between the characters. Really enjoyed this game! Saving the Half-Fey The Nightshift have had a […]
We pick up the story after our heroes fled the Mindflayer and its army of mindless minions. This was second game running D&D remote. See my guide to how we run remote D&D with terrain and miniatures here. In the abandoned warehouse, the party discussed what to do with the Black Sapphire and decided to […]
As we are facing a global pandemic, I find myself in self-isolation due to the government enforced lockdown. Not only does the lockdown mean we can no longer get together to play our monthly D&D game, which is a shame as the lockdown also means we have more time on our hands to play D&D. […]
I’ve mentioned this before, but Darksword Miniature’s Game of Thrones range is perfect for townsfolk and these two ladies are no different.
