Dungeons & Dragons – Gaming board set 3 – The Tower

I am playing Dungeons & Dragons with a group of adults, all busy with a wide variety of jobs.

As such getting us together is a difficult task and I am lucky to get us all together once a month.

But often I am able to get a subset together and when I do so, I run what I call “Spin-off” chapters. Chapters taking place in the same world and timeframe, but outside the main story line… or with very little connection to it.

The first spin-off chapter I did was “Come on Baby Light my Lighthouse” and for this I wanted to make something unique compared to the old-school dungeon crawl type games they had experienced so far. I wanted to create a “tower crawl” game and wanted an actual tower gaming board with floors building upwards as the party ascended.

One quick stop to Amazon and I picked up this perfect 5-tier cake stand in transparent acrylic. Also bought a cobblestone gaming mat from Deep Cut Studio to glue to the cake stand to give it a nice floor feel.

Note, the cake stand also comes in a 7 tier variation as well in case you are more ambitious 🙂
