Dungeons & Dragons – Daisygate Chapter 4: The Fairydopterist

When last we met our Nightshift heroes, they had come in possession of the Black Sapphire, that on the surface was a disputed heirloom, but given the events unfolding, the heroes suspect it is much more than just an unusual gem stone.  The only clue they had was their dying patreon saying they need to […]

Dungeons & Dragons – Daisygate Chapter 3: Grimshaw’s Inheritance

For Chapter 3 we returned to the A team (although one man short) and I planned and ran this game differently from previous games in a number of ways. Essentially this was one long chase scene, but due to the chase being in the Town of Daisygate, the combinations of player choices made it too […]

Dungeons & Dragons – Daisygate Chapter 2: The Black Sapphire

As our current campaign Daisygate is based on West Marches, it is easy for us to invite guest players. For this chapter we had three regular players who all made lvl 1 characters as well as a nephew of one of the players new to D&D. We refer to this group of fledgling adventures as “The […]

Dungeons & Dragons – Daisygate Dungeon Master Screen

Returning to Dungeons & Dragons and roleplaying games in general after a 20 year break, there are lots of new things in the hobby: Critical Role, remote playing, online communities etc, but even at the table things have changed, namely people love taking photos! I find it super cool that my players like taking photos […]

Dungeons & Dragons – The Daisy Gate

The idea for our new campaing came from the movie “Stardust”, which features a cross-ver from our realm into a feywild type world. I loved the idea and so came to be the Daisy Gate, a gate of daisies that leads from the material realm into the Feywild. I wasn’t sure how to build it […]

Dungeons & Dragons – The Ivy Bridge

This built is based on Stone Bridge for D&D Tutorial (Black Magic Craft Episode 075). It’s a speed built tutorial but for me it wasn’t that speedy mainly because of the water, the flowers and the ivy vines I wanted to add. This is my first scenery piece for 2020 and I think it will […]

Dungeons & Dragons – Dogs of War Braganza’s Besiegers (Games Workshop)

These are the town guards known as “The Daisy Guard” in our Daisygate campaign. Ia actually bought these a decade ago to use in a Realm of Chaos campaign I ran (yes, using the very old books). At the time I tried out a new method by painting their armour red and drybrush with bronze […]

Dungeons & Dragons – Daisygate Chapter 1: The Road to Daisygate

Having saved the world of Heden Rei, our adventures had become heroes and known faces throughout the land. Alaris was crowned king, BJ became a sought after advisor, Valyria a sought after maiden and Grimshaw special emissary to the Dwarven Omnitropolis Parthonox. It was all good for a time, but after 3 years in the […]

Dungeons & Dragons – Grand Maester Pycelle and Maester Luwin (Darksword Miniatures)

Now that we are starting a more city based and civilised campaign, I’ve found Darksword Miniatures’ Game of Thrones line great for NPCs such as these two Maesters as Scholars. I do find that the blonde man looks a bit like Jeremy Corbyn Scholars of the Institute of Fairy Studies

Dungeons & Dragons – Sansa Stark and Ladies in Waiting #2 and #4 (Darksword Miniatures)

The George R.R. Martin Masterworks miniatures are fantastic as city NPCs and these three ladies are no exception. The Sansa miniature acts as Baroness Leonilda Von Crupp in our Daisygate campaign. I generally struggle with female faces but I feel these three are better than any I’ve painted before.

Dungeons & Dragons – Dwarf Scribe Loremaster (Atlantis Miniatures)

Really like the Atlantis dwarf minis, but one thing I would say is they are better primed black as they have so many details you need the black undercoat to really cover all the crevasses. Scholars of the Institute of Fairy Studies
